You first make a stop at the Equator, where you will have brilliant photo opportunities with unique experiments offered at 0 degrees latitude that divide the world.

From here, you will drive to Mbarara City for your tasty lunch at Agip Motel. The road will pass through the rolling hills, with green carpet-like vegetation, winding to the home of the endangered mountain gorillas. You’ll arrive in the evening at your lodge, check-in, and retire for relaxation, getting ready for the adventure the next day.

Day 3:  Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Walk.

Have an early breakfast and head to park headquarters for a briefing on dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. Here, you meet fellow trackers as you get grouped before taking off into the dense forest in search of these gentle giants. In this trek, you will go uphill and down hill through thick trees; be on the lookout for one number of bird species.

Upon arrival among the gorillas, you get one golden hour to witness them as they enact their daily activities: eating, playing, or even mating. It is one of those really magical experiences that get you up close with these endangered creatures.

After your trek, you will then return to the starting point for an awarding ceremony as a sign of successful completion of the gorilla trekking adventure. You will then head back to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch and some time to rest.

This evening, you will be visiting the Batwa community, the original inhabitants of this forest. Being forcibly removed from their homes to protect the ecosystem and its other inhabitants, the mountain gorillas, that were being threatened, the Batwa provide a very rare look into their former, centuries-old lifestyle and how hard it has been for them to adjust to living outside the forest.

You may also see a number of small primates along the way-such as black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and vervet monkeys-and some bird species, like the striking Rwenzori Turaco, among other forest endemics.

You will have lunch in Kihihi before proceeding to Queen Elizabeth National Park, southern part known as Ishasha, where you will look for the famous tree-climbing lions. On this game drive, other animals such as topis, buffaloes, and antelopes may be seen.

From there, you will proceed to your lodge located in the northern area of the park, where dinner and an overnight stay await, ready for the adventure the following day.

With some luck, you might find lions hunting for their morning meal and perhaps happen to come across early grazers: herds of buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, and so on. After a successful game drive, you head back to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, take a drive to Mweya Peninsula to begin a 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. It is a haven for a wild array of wildlife; hence, large schools of hippos, herds of elephants cooling off, and varieties of bird species are a common sight. Following the boat ride, drive back to the lodge en route; have some game drives for relaxation, followed by dinner to round up an eventful day.
