A Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Airport Pickup and Kampala City Tour.

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our readily available senior safari guide-driver from Arcadia Safaris will receive you and brief you on the safari. Later, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kampala City, where you shall check in, relax, and go for an evening city tour; Some of the interesting things you should not miss visiting in Kampala include the following: a visit to the Uganda Museum. Take a stroll around the colourful Nakasero Market, or sight the Gaddafi National Mosque.

Take in one of the many restaurants and cafes within Kampala that dish up a whole manner of Ugandan delights: mostly consisting of varied types of stew with either meat, vegetables, plantain, cassava, potatoes, or other different stews and foods. Several mouthwatering possibilities can be savored here in Kampala. After the Kampala City tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with Enroute visit o Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Our guide-driver will be with you shortly after your morning breakfast to depart for Murchison Falls, whose highlights shall include the roaring rapids of the Murchison, as well as rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National park where there shall be chances to view lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalos, and elephants. He shall also get fascinated by hippos and the Nile crocodiles that were concentrated here.

For the birders, Murchison Falls National Park boasts 450 bird species including the elusive shoe-bill stork, dwarf king fisher, the white-thigh horn-bill, and the goliath heron among others. Enroute, make a stopover at Zziwa Rhino sanctuary for your first big 5 experience where you will have an hour of rhino tracking. Another stop will be in Masindi in order to enjoy your lunch.  Proceed later to the park and check-in to your place of accommodation for rest.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Trip to the Base of the Falls.

You will start the day with an early breakfast and proceed on a game drive through the park to observe some of the various wildlife found in the park. Murchison Falls National Park is specifically located in northern Uganda with an area of 3,893 square kilometers. The park is named after the dramatic Murchison Falls. At this point in the Nile, it narrows and plunges in a narrow gorge, creating a wild sight.

The game drive normally takes 3-4 hours, and it is always best during the early morning hours of the day when the animals are usually active. Some of the animals that you are likely to spot during game drives, for example, are elephants, lions, leopard, giraffes, hyenas, and a number of antelopes among others like Uganda Kob, hartebeest, and waterbuck. It has over 450 species of birds registered, hence a very nice destination for people interested in birdwatching.

Afternoon Boat Cruise.

After the game drive, you can have lunch and rest before the afternoon boat cruise. This takes about 3 hours and is a great way to see the Nile River and the surrounding wildlife. You will get to see hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species, including the rare shoebill stork. The boat ride also takes you to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Where you can see the force of the falls up close. Remember to bring sunscreen, a hat, and insect repellent, for the sun may be strong and the insects many. Also, keep a safe distance from the animals and respect the rules and regulations in the park for the preservation of the natural habitat and to preserve it for future generations to also enjoy the park. Evening, you will retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer  to Kibale Forest National Park – 11 Day Uganda Classic Honeymoon Safari.

After having breakfast, check out from your lodge in Murchison Falls National Park and begin the drive to Kibale Forest National Park in western Uganda. This will take you a whole 7-8-hour drive, but it is a very scenic drive through beautiful Ugandan countryside with many opportunities to stop and stretch along the way. You can also prepare some snacks and beverages for the ride. And of course, entertainment: books, music, or podcasts.

After arriving at Kibale Forest National Park, you check-in at your accommodation that may include lodges. You then have the rest of the day to yourself and take your time to marvel at the natural setting of the surroundings of the park. The specific time of your arrival will determine what optional activities guided forest walk, birdwatching, or lodge relaxation may be made possible.

Kibale National Park is probably the best place in the world to see wild chimpanzees in their natural environment. Your arrival to Kibale has been timed such that the next day you have the chance to go chimpanzee tracking. More on the actual experience of the treks here and what you might expect from your guide or local accommodation. In the evening, you will have dinner at your accommodation, which may include traditional Ugandan cuisine, and perhaps a briefing from the park rangers about the next day’s activities. Later, retire to your comfortable room for a good night’s sleep to prepare for the exciting chimpanzee trekking experience the next day.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Nature Walk.

On day 5 of your 11 Day Uganda Classic Honeymoon Safari itinerary, you will go for a chimpanzee trek in Kibale National Park. You will take a guided walk in the forest as you search for chimpanzees. The trekking will begin early in the morning, and you will set off with an experienced guide who will lead you through the forest. It helps you spot primates and other animals en route. Kibale Forest National Park boasts a great record of the highest density of any primate population in Africa. This, therefore, provides an assurance of a very high possibility of seeing chimpanzees. You may or may not see them since they are wild animals that move around freely. Other primates, which you might see during this trek, are the red-tailed monkeys, the black-and-white colobus monkeys, and the grey-cheeked Mangabeys.

Later after trekking, head to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the close community and learn about the culture and livelihood of the people living around; this will give you a chance to interact with the local people. Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for an Evening Game Drive.

After breakfast, you will check out of your accommodation in Kibale Forest National Park and set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is located in western Uganda. The drive will take about 3-4 hours, and you will have an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery and make a few stops along the way. When you arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will check into your accommodation and rest for a while. Before embarking on an evening game drive.

You will set out on a 4×4 safari vehicle with an experienced guide who will help you spot wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, lions, hyenas, and many species of antelopes. The game drive will last for about 3 hours. Day 7: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise Along Kazinga Channel.

On day 7 of your 11 Day Uganda Classic Honeymoon Safari itinerary, you will start with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will be picked up from your lodge by a driver-guide and head out into the park in a 4×4 vehicle. The game drive typically starts at around 6:30 am and lasts for about 3-4 hours. During the game drive, you will explore the vast savannah plains of the park and look for the park’s wildlife.

The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, hyenas, antelopes, and many species of birds; One of the highlights of the game drive is the rare tree-climbing lions that are found in the park. These lions have adapted to climb trees to escape from the heat and avoid insect bites. Your driver-guide will take you to the areas of the park where the lions are known to climb trees. You may have the opportunity to see them resting in the branches.

Afternoon Launch Cruise Along Kazinga Channel.

After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, you will go on an afternoon launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. The channel is a natural waterway that connects two lakes in the park, Lake George and Lake Edward. During the cruise, you will have an opportunity to see many water birds, including pelicans, eagles, herons, and kingfishers. You may also see hippos, buffaloes, and elephants that come to the channel to drink and cool off. The cruise typically lasts for about 2 hours. Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – 11 Day Uganda Classic Honeymoon Safari.

After breakfast at your accommodation in Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Which is located in south-western Uganda. The drive will take around 4-6 hours, depending on the route you take and any stops you make along the way. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is known for its gorilla trekking experiences. It’s home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorillas. The park is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Due to its unique biodiversity and the protection of the endangered gorilla species.

You can stop for lunch in a town along the way or bring a packed lunch from your previous accommodation. When you arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, you will check into your accommodation and rest for the remainder of the day. This will give you time to prepare for the gorilla trekking experience the next day. Day 9: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Trail in Bwindi.

On day 9 of your itinerary, you will wake up early in the morning to set off on a gorilla trekking expedition in Bwindi Forest National Park. This is one of the most thrilling and unforgettable experiences you can have in Uganda. You will be led by experienced guides who will take you deep into the forest to search for a family of gorillas.
