The area boasts one of the largest populations of lions in Africa, estimated at 2,500, 1,000 elusive leopards, the African bush elephant, buffaloes, and the critically endangered eastern black rhinoceros. Other species include Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, wildebeests, topis, waterbucks, elands, striped and spotted hyenas, baboons, eastern African wild dogs, impalas, and towering Maasai giraffes.

The more than 500 species of birds inhabiting the area amaze birdwatchers and include vultures, love birds, martial eagles, crowned cranes, marabou storks, ostriches, and the peculiar secretary bird. Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Serengeti National Park.

Start your day’s adventure right after having a heavy breakfast in your lodge or hotel in Arusha. Our Arcadia Safaris guide/driver will pick you at exactly 7:00 AM and drive you to the famous Serengeti National Park through a dramatic drive covering about 335 kilometers of appealing landscapes before reaching this iconic destination.

The annual spectacular wildebeest migration features millions of wildebeest, 200,000 zebras, and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelles that migrate in search of greener pastures. This usually occurs between May and July and then again between October and December; an absolutely unique wildlife experience.

You will arrive at your lodge to check in and receive a warm welcome amidst spectacular views. Later, get ready for a walking safari into the bush for an experience. Get up close and personal with the raw natural beauty of the Serengeti firsthand on this intimate walk with an informative guide who makes the healthy biodiversity of this park come alive.

Day 2: Full Day Game Viewing in the Park.

Start your day with the excitement of an early morning game drive viewing the nocturnal animals coming back from their hunting at night, and the lions waking up at dawn. Driving deep in the Tanzanian wild exposes you to an unprecedented density of wildlife: buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and many others, including the elusive leopards and majestic black rhinoceros.

Bird lovers will be delighted with the varied birdlife, having views of everything from secretary birds and black eagles down to ostriches and crowned cranes. Later on in the afternoon, after such an event-filled morning, retire back to the lodge for a laidback afternoon, indulging in a well-deserved lunch as you prepare for the evening game drive.
